Mintec launches Soybean Oil FOB Paraguay Mintec Benchmark Prices

Following a period of market feedback, Mintec has launched weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for Soybean Oil FOB Paraguay.

The initial proposal was announced in a market note published on 25th August 2023 which can be found here. The decision to go ahead with the launch was communicated in a market note on 12th September 2023, which can be found here.

The assessment reflects the transactable value at 16:00:00 London time.

Soybean oil is one of the most widely used vegetable oils globally, used in both food and as feedstock for biodiesel, with Paraguay being one of the major South American producers. The assessment complements Mintec’s existing soybean oil coverage and provides additional granularity of comparison between major exporting origins.
