Globally, peanuts are the fifth largest oilseed crop and are the most widely grown “nut” with an global production of 46 million metric tons. Despite the sheer size of the crop the peanut market remains very opaque with limited sources of independent reliable pricing information.
Tree nuts are a key food ingredient and source of protein, consumed both in raw and processed forms, and are utilized widely across the food and beverage industry. The tree nut market as a whole is worth around $36 billion with a production volume north of 4.5 million metric tons.
Within this, almonds are the largest crop with a production of around 1.4 million metric tons worth over $9 billion, an increase in value of 125% over the past decade.

Production of peanuts is well distributed across the globe. The largest producers are China and India which account for c.39% and c.14% of global production respectively.
Almonds are the largest nut crop with an annual production of around 1.4 million metric tons worth over $9 billion, an increase in value of 125% over the past decade.
Cashews production is mainly located in Asia and Africa. While Vietnam acts as a processing hub importing raw cashew nuts from numerous producing countries and exporting shelled cashew kernels.
