Mintec to launch Soybean Oil FOB Paraguay Mintec Benchmark Prices

Following a period of market feedback, Mintec has decided to launch weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for Soybean Oil FOB Paraguay. The assessments will begin publication effective from Tuesday, 26th September 2023. The initial proposal was communicated in a market note which can be found here.

The assessment will reflect the transactable value at 16:00:00 London time.

Soybean oil is one of the most widely used vegetable oils globally, used in both food and as feedstock for biodiesel, with Paraguay being one of the major South American producers. The assessment will complement Mintec’s existing soybean oil coverage and provide additional granularity of comparison between major exporting origins.
