Globally, peanuts are the fifth largest oilseed crop and are the most widely grown “nut” with an global production of 46 million metric tons. Despite the sheer size of the crop the peanut market remains very opaque with limited sources of independent reliable pricing information.

What does the Mintec Peanut price assessment represent?

The Mintec peanut price assessments represent prices for the different grades of shelled runner peanuts. Runner peanuts are the most widely produced peanut variety in the Americas, making up over 85% of total US production, and are the main type of peanut consumed in the American and European markets.

Mintec also provide a range of other nut commodity prices including almonds, hazel nuts and Brazil nuts. Mintec also provide prices for specific types and grades such as US ground nut and Turkish hazel nuts.
