Mintec to launch South African Raisin Mintec Benchmark Prices

Following a period of market feedback, Mintec has decided to launch 8 weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices for South African Thompson seedless and Flame raisin varieties.  The publication of the new assessments will be effective from Thursday 30th March, 2023.

The proposed assessments will reflect the transactable value at 16:00 London time.

South Africa is a major exporter of dried grapes and the assessments will provide increased transparency and an independent benchmark for market participants in the dried fruit markets. Additionally, these assessments will complement Mintec’s existing dried grape coverage and allow for Mintec customers to compare costs between the major exporting regions, including Turkey and the US.
