Mintec launches South African Raisin Mintec Benchmark Prices

Mintec has launched eight weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices for South African Thompson seedless and Flame raisin varieties, effective Thursday 30th March 2023.  

The initial proposal was announced in a market note which can be viewed here. The decision to go ahead with the launch was communicated in a market note on 15th March 2023, which can be found here.

The assessments reflect the transactable value at 16:00 London time. 
 
South Africa is a major exporter of dried grapes and the assessments provide increased transparency and independent benchmarks for market participants in the dried fruit markets. Additionally, these assessments complement Mintec’s existing dried grape coverage and allow for Mintec customers to compare costs between the major exporting regions, including Turkey and the US.
