Mintec launches French Milling Wheat Mintec Benchmark Prices

Following a period of market feedback, Mintec has launched weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for French milling wheat, effective from Friday, 15th September 2023.  

The initial proposal to launch this assessment was announced in a market note published on 11th August 2023 which can be found here. The decision to go ahead with the launch was communicated in a market note on 29th August 2023, which can be found here.

The assessment reflects the transactable value at 16:00:00 London time. 

France is the largest wheat producer in the European Union and plays a vital role in supplying wheat to the global market. The assessment provides Mintec subscribers with an independent benchmark for the most commonly traded grade of French milling wheat. Furthermore, the assessment complements Mintec’s existing European wheat coverage and allows Mintec subscribers to compare prices between France and other major exporters on a FOB basis.
