Mintec to launch Romanian Milling Wheat Mintec Benchmark Prices

Following a period of market feedback, Mintec has decided to launch a weekly Mintec Benchmark Price (MBP) for Romanian Milling Wheat. The new assessment will begin publication effective from Friday, 21st April 2023. The initial proposal was communicated in a market note which can be found here.

The assessment will reflect the transactable value at 16:00:00 London time.

Romania is becoming an increasingly important producer and exporter of milling wheat, especially to the eastern Mediterranean and Middle East, as well as to other EU countries. It also qualifies as one of the Black Sea origins for milling wheat, while having the advantage of being a member of the EU. Therefore, the new Romanian milling wheat assessment will provide an independent reference point for the industry.
