Mintec to launch EU Pork Compound Feed Index Mintec Benchmark Prices

Following a period of market feedback, Mintec has decided to launch weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for the EU Pork Compound Feed Index. The assessment will begin publication effective from Friday, 29th September 2023. The initial proposal was communicated in a market note which can be found here. 

The full specification for the assessment is as below: 

The assessment will reflect the transactable value at 16:00:00 London time 

The index assessment will use a basket of underlying Mintec Benchmark Prices, based on a typical blend for pork feed production, to provide a reference price for the raw material cost of compound feed. 

The weightings are as follows 35.5% feed wheat, 21.5% feed corn, 21.5% feed soymeal and 21.5% feed barley. 

The assessment will be rounded to the nearest Euro cent using the rule that decimals of four (4) or less round down, and decimals of five (5) or above round-up, e.g. €1.744 will be rounded to €1.74, and €1.755 will be rounded to €1.76.
