Mintec to Launch Argentinian Dairy Mintec Benchmark Prices

Following a period of market feedback, Mintec has decided to launch 2 monthly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for Argentinian dairy products. The new assessments will begin publication effective on Thursday, 29th September.
The initial proposal was announced in the market note published on 31st August 2023, which can be viewed here.

The specifications for these assessments will be as below:

The assessments will reflect the transactable value at 16:00:00 London time.

Milk powders are used as an alternative to fresh milk. They can be used after dissolution in water or by direct adding the powder into a formulation. It is used to standardize dry matter or to optimize protein content. Milk powders are widely traded export products which are used in a variety of food and nutrition products. 

Argentina a key player in the global dairy industry and major exporter. Argentina acts as a supplier for the South American continent and price-sensitive markets in Africa. The launch of the new assessments will give further give users greater clarity in understanding price movements in the global dairy complex.
