Mintec proposes to launch Turkish hazelnut Mintec Benchmark Prices

Mintec is proposing to launch two weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices for Turkish origin hazelnuts, kernel size 13/15mm. Mintec is collecting feedback on this proposal from any market participants until Tuesday, 16th May 2023. Mintec is proposing to launch these assessments, if supported by the industry, on Wednesday 31st May, 2023.
The proposed specifications for these assessments would be:

 The proposed assessments would reflect the transactable value at 16:00 London time.

Turkey is the largest exporter of hazelnuts and Mintec already assesses Mintec Benchmark Prices for Turkish origin hazelnut kernels sized 11-13mm, which are smaller in size to the proposed assessments. Kernels sized 13/15mm are commonly traded and the proposed assessments would complement Mintec’s existing offering and provide Mintec customers a detailed look at the price differentials between the two major size grades of hazelnut kernels.
