Mintec Proposes to launch three new US walnut assessments

Mintec is proposing to launch three new monthly Mintec Benchmark Prices assessments for different grades of Chandler & non-Chandler walnuts, effective 25 October 2021. Mintec is collecting feedback on this proposal from any market participants until Thursday, October 7, 2021.

The proposed assessments, including their specifications, are:

The proposed assessments would reflect the transactable value at 16:00 London time for the prices of a 40ft container of walnuts on a per pound basis.

The proposed assessments would provide additional pricing information for the US walnut market, providing Mintec clients with a set of independent price benchmarks for the world’s largest walnut exporting country.
