Mintec proposes to launch three new nonpareil US almond assessments

Mintec is proposing to launch three new weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices assessments for different grades of nonpareil almonds, effective 25 October 2021. Mintec is collecting feedback on this proposal from any market participants until Thursday, October 7, 2021.

The proposed assessments, including their specifications, are:

The proposed assessments would reflect the transactable value at 16:00 London time for the prices of a 40ft container of almonds on a per pound basis.

The new assessments for ‘Nonpareil Extra’ are proposed to address the increasing volumes of smaller kernel sizes in the market which have been seen over the past years.

The assessment for Nonpareil inshell would provide additional information for the Asian dominated inshell markets, providing Mintec clients with even greater transparency in the global almond trade.
