Mintec proposes to launch new Palm Oil Mintec Benchmark Prices

Mintec is proposing to launch new daily Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for Malaysian Palm Fatty Acid Distillate (PFAD) and is collecting feedback from market participants in the vegetable oils markets until Friday, 13th January 2023.   

The proposed specification for this assessment would be as below: 

The proposed assessment would reflect the transactable value at 16:00:00 London time.  
 
The increasing global supply of palm oil has led to a higher availability of PFAD residue available for various uses, including use as a renewable raw material in the production of biofuels. PFAD is also used for animal feed as well as in the oleochemical industry. The launch of this assessment would give users greater clarity in understanding price movements.
