Mintec Proposes to Launch New Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for US Walnuts

Mintec is proposing to launch new monthly Mintec Benchmark Prices for different grades of Chandler walnuts, effective 28 February 2023. Mintec is collecting feedback on this proposal from any market participants until Monday 13 February 2023.

The proposed assessments, including their specifications, are:

The proposed assessment would reflect the transactable value at 16:00 London time for the prices of a 40ft container of walnuts on a per pound basis.

The proposed assessments would complement Mintec’s existing offering in the US walnut markets and provide customers with insight into two commonly traded grades of chandler walnut kernels. This would further enhance market participants ability to manage risk and track price trends in the nut markets.
