Mintec proposes to launch new German E-Grade Wheat Mintec Benchmark Prices

Mintec is proposing to launch new weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for German E-grade (elite) wheat and is collecting feedback from market participants in the grains markets until Friday, 31st March 2023.

If the industry supports this proposal, Mintec suggests launching this assessment on Friday, 21st April 2023.

The proposed specification for this assessment would be as below:

The proposed assessment would reflect the transactable value at 16:00:00 London time. 

German E-grade wheat is gaining traction on the grains market as it offers high gluten, high quality and strong disease resistance. Farmers are turning to E-grade type of wheat due to agronomic and market benefits. Thus, the new German E-grade wheat assessment will provide an independent reference point for the industry.
