Mintec proposes to launch China Delivered Sunflower Oil and Rapeseed Oil Mintec Benchmark Prices

Mintec is proposing to launch weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for Sunflower Oil and Rapeseed Oil CIF China and is collecting feedback from market participants in the vegetable oil markets until Monday 11 September 2023.

Mintec is proposing to launch these assessments, if supported by the industry, on Tuesday 26 September 2023.

The proposed specifications for these assessments would be as below:

The proposed assessments would reflect the transactable value at 16:00:00 London time.

China is one of the largest global importers of vegetable oils including sunflower oil and rapeseed oil. Proposed assessments would allow Mintec subscribers to monitor prices for one of the world’s largest importers and provide a more granular look at the global vegetable oil markets.
