Mintec proposes to launch Argentinian Feed Barley Mintec Benchmark Prices

Mintec is proposing to launch a monthly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for Argentinian feed barley and is collecting feedback from market participants in the grains markets until Friday, 25th August 2023. Mintec is proposing to launch this assessment, if supported by the industry, on Friday 15th September 2023.

The proposed specification for this assessment would be as below:

The proposed assessment would reflect the transactable value at 16:00:00 London time.

Argentina is a major barley exporter, and its importance has been growing in recent years as a supplier to the Chinese feed markets. The proposed assessment would provide additional granularity to Mintec’s existing global barley coverage and allow Mintec subscribers to compare prices between reliable benchmarks for major producing and exporting countries.
