Mintec launches monthly US IQF Vegetables and Organic Fruit Mintec Benchmark Prices

Mintec has launched additional Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for IQF corn, IQF carrot and IQF onion, IQF organic strawberry, and IQF organic mango MBP assessments effective Friday, September 29^th, 2023.

The initial proposal was announced in a market note published on August 28^th, 2023, and can be viewed here.  The decision to go ahead with the launch was communicated in a market note on September 14^th, 2023, and can be found here.

The assessments, including their specifications, are: 

The new assessments reflect the transactable value on the last business day of each month at 16:00:00 US Eastern time.  

These Mintec Benchmark Prices address the lack of transparency in the US frozen and vegetable markets as sales reached $7.1 billion in 2021/22. These MBP will aid industry participants to reliably, and independently, benchmark their transactions for the first time.
