Mintec launches monthly Mintec Benchmark Prices for US IQF Blackberry, Blueberry & Raspberry

Mintec has launched IQF Blueberry, Raspberry, and Blackberry monthly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) assessments effective Friday, April 28^th, 2023. 

The initial proposal to launch these assessments was announced in a market note published on March 28^th, 2023 and can be found here. The decision to go ahead with the launch was communicated in a market note on April 13th, 2023, and can be found here. 

The assessments, including their specifications, are:  

The new assessments reflect the transactable value on the last business day of each month at 16:00:00 US Eastern time.  

These Mintec Benchmark Prices will address the lack of transparency in the US frozen and processed fruit industry as US frozen fruit sales reached $1.5 billion in 2021/22. These MBP will aid industry participants to reliably, and independently, benchmark their transactions for the first time.
