Mintec launches Indian cashew Mintec Benchmark Prices

Following a period of market feedback, Mintec has launched a weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices for Indian cashews, WW240 grade. 

 The initial proposal to launch this assessment was announced in a market note published on 31st August 2023 which can be viewed here. The decision to go ahead with the launch was communicated in a market note on 15th September 2023, which can be found here. 

The specification for the assessment is as below: 

The assessment reflects the transactable value at 16:00 London time. 

 

India is an important cashew producer and exporter, with high volumes of raw cashew nuts being processed within the country. The processed kernels are either consumed domestically or exported to markets such as Asia, Middle East, the US and Europe. The assessment complements Mintec’s exiting Indian cashew coverage and provides Mintec customers deeper insight into the Indian cashew complex. Additionally, the assessment allows for Mintec customers to compare prices for larger sized kernels against other major exporting regions.
