Mintec launches Chinese & Malaysian Palm Oil Derivative MBP

Following a period of market feedback, Mintec has launched weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for Palm Kernel Olein RBD FOB Malaysia and Palm Olein RBD CFR China. 

The initial proposal to launch this assessment was announced in a market note published on 22 August 2023 which can be found here. The decision to go ahead with the launch was communicated in a market note on 7th September 2023, which can be found here.

The assessments reflect the transactable value at 16:00:00 London time. 

Palm oil is one of the most widely used oils in the world, having both significant food and industrial applications. The palm oil derivative assessments complement Mintec’s existing palm oil coverage by providing Mintec subscribers additional granularity and information for the global palm oil markets.
