Mintec launches Chilean Raisin Mintec Benchmark Prices

Following a period of market feedback, Mintec has launched 4 monthly Mintec Benchmark Prices for Chilean Thompson seedless raisins.

 

The initial proposal to launch this assessment was announced in a market note published on 31^st August 2023 which can be found here. The decision to go ahead with the launch was communicated in a market note on 15^th September 2023, which can be found here.

The assessments reflect the transactable value at 16:00 London time.

Chile is a major exporter of dried grapes and the proposed assessments provides increased transparency and an independent benchmark for market participants in the dried fruit markets. Additionally, these assessments complement Mintec’s existing dried grape coverage and allow for Mintec customers to compare costs between the major exporting regions, including Turkey, South Africa and the US.
