Mintec has changed the native currency for the following Mintec Benchmark Prices on 22 March 2021:
The market note for this change was first published on 1 March 2021, following a market consultation for several weeks that showed support of the proposed currency change.
All assessments that have had their currency changed are assessed on an ex-works basis in Western Europe, with the majority of trade happening in and around the Netherlands. Therefore, publishing these assessments in EUR/mt more closely reflects the price levels being heard in the market and minimises exchange rate volatility.
This currency change also affects all historical pricing on these series, meaning that those clients using the Excel API set up to download prices in their default currency will also change to Euro.
These changes are brought about in an effort to increase Mintec’s offering to its clients by offering greater transparency to our ways of working and aligning our published Mintec Benchmark Prices closer to the real trading environment.
