Mintec extends feedback period for pork methodology change proposal

All Market Notes 14 January 2022

Mintec is extending its feedback period for its methodology change proposal to Friday 28 January 2022. The new date this methodology change would come into effect would be Tuesday 15 February 2022. The initial proposal market note published on 07 January 2022 can be found here.

The proposal now reads:

Mintec proposes to change the methodology of two of its Mintec Benchmark Prices BW56 (Pig Deadweight Grade S EXW European Union) and BW19 (Pig Deadweight Grade E EXW European Union), and is soliciting feedback until Friday, 28 January 2022.

The proposed methodology change would include prices for the Netherlands, Denmark and Belgium in the calculation of the European pork Grade S and Grade E baskets. Mintec believes that this change would bring wider coverage of the European pork market to the industry.

This methodology change would take effect on Tuesday, 15 February 2022.

Full details of the current methodology can be found in the Mintec Assessment Specifications Guide available here. Please send any feedback about this proposal to methodology@mintecglobal.com by Friday 28 January, clearly state which market note your comments relate to, and if comments are intended for publication by Mintec.

Mintec will acknowledge receipt of all comments by email.
