Main Purpose of Job:

 

The main purpose of this job is to be working as the link between the sales and the marketing teams to ensure that marketing campaigns are rolled out and return on investment is measured, whilst generating quality new business leads for the sales team. The successful candidate will assist Mintec to develop and deliver its sales and marketing strategy to support the brand, engage customers and drive revenues in existing and new markets. This is to be achieved by developing the profile of Mintec through the full range of marketing activity and supporting the pipelining of new business.

In addition to creating and following up on a pipeline of new business leads through a combination of direct calls as well as emails, you will facilitate client marketing activities by working closely with our commercial, product and data teams as well as coordinating with external vendors. Using a combination of tools including HubSpot and Salesforce you will ensure our clients are kept up to date with our services and product offerings through our website and through inbound and outbound marketing activity.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Working as the bridge between the sales and marketing team, ensuring that marketing work is delivered and supports the work of the sales team
• Proactive calling and direct engagement with individuals at B2B companies to arrange appointments for the new business sales team, working from a database of lead information as well as your own cold calling of targeted mapped leads
• Plan, evaluate, schedule, track and analyse the successes of all marketing programs
• Develop and write marketing copy/messaging for use in all marketing collateral
• Employ a range of marketing and social media tools to engage with audiences
• Monitor and report on the performance and effectiveness of marketing activity
• Develop, manage and maintain collateral to branding guidelines.
• Provide updates to the website, using a content management system
• Maximising all selling opportunities for the new business sales team, through questioning skills, ascertaining prospective customer needs and key issues
• Scheduling appointments

In an $8 trillion annual market for agricultural commodities and food, Mintec occupies a unique position as data provider to many of the world’s top food manufacturers and retailers. These companies rely on our extensive pricing data to help their procurement professionals purchase raw materials smartly and improve their companies’ profitability.

Mintec has been providing market leading raw material price data and business intelligence tools to global procurement teams for more than 30 years. We provide market intelligence to the largest manufacturers and retailers around the world, using advanced technology and supported by a data- driven intelligence team with strong research and knowledge skill across a wide range of markets, from raw materials to indirect costs.

The successful candidate will be a valuable member of the Pricing team and help shape the proprietary pricing division within Mintec. Ideally, you will come from an established Price Reporting Agency (PRA) and be experienced in working with price assessment methodologies, commodity specifications and IOSCO-compliant price reporting processes. An understanding of the agricultural commodity market is expected. You will need to be highly numerate with excellent analytical and communication skills and enjoy interaction with traders, producers and manufacturers in the agricultural and soft commodity value chain. The Pricing Analyst will be working closely with the Senior Pricing Analyst and the Head of Proprietary Pricing.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Managing and expanding the number of industry contacts that submit pricing data, using all means of communication including face-to-face meetings and networking

Develop in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals, supply chain and key participants for specific agricultural commodity markets

Collect transactional pricing data, bids, offers, tenders and any other information that will be relevant to assess the Mintec Benchmark Prices in line with Mintec’s robust methodology, price specifications and IOSCO compliant principles

• Follow procedures to continue to build and maintain Mintec’s proprietary data

 Write price rationales and analytical pieces

Handle questions from contacts and the market about the dynamics of particular pricing, seeking guidance from your manager when inquiries are sensitive, to make our processes and judgement transparent to the market

• To assist your manager to review and manage the existing pipeline of prices and identify new price assessment launch opportunities

•Publishing new Mintec Benchmark Prices to the agreed schedule


Skills:

 

• Minimum 1 years of experience within the commodities markets

• Focussing on covering agricultural and soft commodity markets, but may also have experience in other physical commodity markets

• Excellent understanding of commodity markets and the fundamental drivers which shape them

• Good understanding of commodity derivatives

• Strong academic background with a numerical/analytical degree

• Ability to work with numbers and spreadsheets

• Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate complex issues in a clear, concise and coherent manner and understand the differing agendas and drivers of the audience

Mintec is rapidly growing serving this huge and burgeoning global market and is seeking an experienced and ambitious Senior Market Analyst to join our intelligence team. Using advanced technology and supported by data- driven Intelligence coupled with strong research and commodity knowledge across a wide range of markets, from raw materials to indirect costs, the team provide pivotal and valuable insight to our clients.

 

The successful candidate will be a valuable member of the Intelligence team and a “go to” source on market insight and current events in the industry. The Senior Market Analyst would be recognised as an ‘expert’ within their market(s)- based on the content delivered and contacts established. They will undertake price forecasting within their assigned commodity markets.

 

This position is based in our Bourne End office.

•Interpreting market research data, formulating insight and making recommendations based upon research findings;

Required Qualifications:

 

We are looking for someone with specific experience within Market Analysis of agricultural products who has an inquisitive, rational and intellectual approach to analysing fundamental data, macro and market information with the ability to deliver a cohesive and credible commodity market outlook.

Experience and Education:

•University degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering or in a similar numeric field

•Minimum 6 years’ experience of the commodities market, mainly in the physical agricultural markets, experience of fruit and vegetables would be ideal

•Experience of people management is desirable but a willingness to and ability to contribute towards the thought leadership within the intelligence team is required

 

Skills:

 

•Understanding of commodities price theory, including the fundamental drivers for supply, demand, trade flows and prices and their mutual interaction

•Experience in commodity price forecasting would be ideal

•Primary and secondary research capabilities
