In an $8 trillion annual market for agricultural commodities and food, Mintec occupies a unique position as data provider to many of the world’s top food manufacturers and retailers. These companies rely on our extensive pricing data to help their procurement professionals purchase raw materials smartly and improve their companies’ profitability.

Mintec has expanded rapidly in this burgeoning global market and is seeking an ambitious VP to expand our client base in North America.

This is a stand-alone role which provides an exciting opportunity to represent Mintec to the leading food manufacturers and retailers in North America. You will respond to qualified leads and identify new opportunities. You will be entirely responsible for presenting our solutions to companies, crafting proposals, negotiating and then closing large value annual subscription deals.

The role will focus on our growing client base in North America which is our most exciting growth market.  The role requires regular travel to meet clients at events or at their offices. Face-to-face selling, including presentations and demonstrations of our services is an essential component of the role. 

Responsibilities:

Drive all new client acquisition

 Manage significant deal volume and grow pipeline

 Develop and execute strategic plans for targeting prioritized opportunities

 Respond to inbound lead generation, and leverage marketing for outbound generation

 Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts and reports to inform management of strategic decision- making and to reflect appropriate management of the territory and sales pipeline

 Handover newly won accounts to Account Management team for nurture post-sale

Skills:

 6+ years’ experience of working in a fast-paced subscription business development role

 Experience of selling data products and data feed products

 Experience of selling to food manufacturers and retailers and FMCG brands, working closely with their procurement teams and executives to drive          revenue growth through demonstrable client ROI

 A strong negotiator with excellent commercial experience and consultative selling approach

 Demonstrable record of owning and exceeding a target quota

 You must be a polished presenter, an excellent communicator

 Be a self-starter and be driven to achieve the best results

Main Purpose of Job:

The successful candidate will be a valuable member of the Intelligence team and a “go to” source on market insight and current events in the industry. The Senior Market Analyst would be recognised as an ‘expert’ within their market(s)- based on the content delivered and contacts established.  They will undertake price forecasting within their assigned commodity markets.

The market analyst will be mainly responsible for:

Required qualifications:

We are looking for someone with an inquisitive, rational and intellectual approach to analysing fundamental data, macro and market information with the ability to deliver a cohesive and credible commodity market outlook.

Education and experience:

University degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering or a similar numeric field

Minimum 4-5 years of experience of the commodities market (experience of agricultural markets/commodities would be ideal)

Skills:

Understanding of commodities price theory, including the fundamental drivers for supply, demand, trade flows and prices and their mutual interaction

In an $8 trillion annual market for agricultural commodities and food, Mintec occupies a unique position as data provider to many of the world’s top food manufacturers and retailers. These companies rely on our extensive pricing data to help their procurement professionals purchase raw materials smartly and improve their companies’ profitability.

Mintec is poised for rapid growth serving this huge and burgeoning global market and is seeking an experienced and ambitious Commodity Price Editor to lead our proprietary price discovery and publication process. Ideally, you will come from an established Price Reporting Agency (PRA)  and be experienced in developing price assessment methodologies, commodity specifications and managing IOSCO-compliant price reporting processes.  You will need to be highly numerate with excellent analytical and communication skills and enjoy interaction with traders, producers and manufacturers in the agricultural and soft commodity value chain.

This position is based in our Bourne End office.

Responsibilities:

• To develop our pricing methodology and launch new price assessments

• To oversee the set-up and implementation of procedures to build and maintain Mintec’s proprietary data

• To review our database of proprietary prices and implement any required improvements based on previous experience and knowledge

• Build and maintain a contact database of global data contributors across all our major commodities

• Publish new price reports to our agreed schedule

• Recruit and  lead a team of pricing analysts collecting transaction data for our price assessments

• To work closely with Mintec’s market analysts to build commodity pricing specifications

 

Skills:

• Minimum 5 years of pricing editorial experience within the commodities markets  

• Experienced in recruiting, building and line managing a team that can deliver business strategic requirements

• Focussing on covering agricultural and soft commodity markets, but may also have experience in metals, packaging and energy

• Excellent understanding of commodity markets and the fundamental drivers which shape them

• Ability to present results to stakeholders and senior management

• Strong academic background with a numerical/analytical degree
