Role and Responsibilities:

Mintec is seeking a Head of Americas with an exceptional track record of success to help lead the company through its next phase of growth. The VP of Americas will report to our CCO/CRO in developing and executing Mintec’s overall growth and go-to-market strategies and leading the expansion into the Americas. The Head of Americas will recruit, build, develop and lead Americas functions including sales, account management, and client success and will participate in strategic decisions to enable the company to achieve growth targets. Specifically, this person will:

  • Assume overall revenue development and growth attainment in the Americas. Set and communicate clear and actionable priorities coupled with a growth mindset and unite the team in supporting and achieving company revenue growth goals at high attainment across all segments in the Americas

  • Expand the business and team in the Americas, building, leading and structuring a strong Americas revenue generation team, leading from the front as a senior leader within the Mintec organization.

  • Train and develop around our newly defined sales process, educating the team on incentives, necessary training and on-boarding, quotas, performance reviews, sales strategies, account planning, forecasting metrics, methodologies, and systems.

About The Role:
Reporting to the Head of Americas, the role is both a tactical and strategic one - leading a team of new business development “hunters” to achieve ARR, revenue and bookings performance, whilst ensuring customer satisfaction and value creation. The team of new Business Development executives have a quota carrying role, responsible for acquiring new logos and referenceable customers.
The Sales Director will develop and drive the sales strategy, territory management and growth for the Americas and fosters a culture of success and ongoing quota achievement. Leading from the front, the Head of New Business Development supports the building of key customer relationships and participates in sales activities that enable the successful closure of key strategic business opportunities.  

Your Focus:
•    Ongoing management of a high-performance sales team of 6-8 members covering 2k+ prospects in the Americas
•    Ensuring that the sales account executives overachieve on their individual sales targets and enabling Mintec to meet its overall strategic business objectives
•    Providing effective tactical and strategic account planning to manage the overall sales process and drive deals to closure
•    Training, mentoring, and developing team members in Mintec’s sales methodologies and processes
•    Consistently monitoring the sales forecasts and pipeline of the team, ensuring that all activity is accurately tracked through the CRM system

Using best in class proprietary price forecasting methodology, the Forecast team analyse and forecast a wide range of food and non-food commodity prices to provide purchasing recommendations and pivotal insight to our clients.

The successful candidate will be a valuable member of the Forecasting team, overseeing commodity price forecasts and delivering hedging recommendations to Mintec’s customers.

The role:

  • Becoming an expert in Mintec’s price forecast methodology

  • Evaluating and updating forecasts

  • Interpreting analytical content and relaying it in a written format

  • Developing the analysis to launch and maintain new forecasts

  • Delivering topical webinars and joining calls with customers to support the adoption of the forecasting product

  • Participating in forecast discussions to ensure key knowledge is shared across the forecasting team

  • Continuously demonstrating initiative by proposing methods and techniques to improve current forecast methodology

  • Continually challenging, refining and improving operational processes to achieve improvement in productivity and quality of service

  • Undertaking courses and training to acquire expertise in Forecast methodologies as part of the career development of this role 

Required qualifications:

We are looking for someone who has an inquisitive, rational and intellectual approach to analysing and interpreting data. The successful candidate must also possess good communication and writing skills.

The ideal candidate would have experience in either technical analysis or commodity pricing analysis (fundamentals, futures, etc). Successful candidates who don’t have experience in Technical Analysis would be given the opportunity to attend a course in the Society of Technical Analysis to develop expertise in the field. Candidates with experience in technical analysis but without the necessary knowledge in commodities, would also be trained. 

Experience and Education:

  • University degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering or in a similar numeric field would be beneficial

  • Diploma in Technical Analysis from the STA or equivalent (or relevant experience in technical analysis/commodity price analysis)

Skills:

  • Understanding of commodities price theory, including the fundamental drivers for supply, demand, trade flows and prices and their mutual interaction would be beneficial

  • Understanding of financial markets in general or commodity futures markets, in particular, would also be beneficial

  • Excellent analytical, qualitative and quantitative skills, with strong attention to detail and passion for accuracy

  • Good communication and presentation skills with a proven ability to support the Commercial team and members of the forecast team, whilst build and maintain positive, effective relationships across all levels in an organisation

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

The successful candidate will be a valuable member of the forecasting team and will update and develop analyses of market developments within a range of commodities, including metals, energy sources, plastics, and edibles. As a student employee at Mintec you will be able to schedule your working hours to a great extent. The working hours will be 15-20 per week. We expect a certain degree of flexibility near deadlines, but we will accommodate your requests in relation to your exams and schedule.

This position is based in our Copenhagen office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain fundamental analyses of commodities, which analyse supply, demand, inventory levels, cost driver developments and financial measures

  • Support the identification and development of additional analytical indicators

  • Collect and interpret data from a wide range of sources including industry organizations, The Federal Reserve, Eurostat, Census Bureau, CFTC, BLS, and many more.

 

THE CANDIDATE:

Mintec is the world’s leading independent provider of global commodity price data, price forecasts & market intelligence for the food, CPG and capital goods supply chains. Mintec sells its data and intelligence to customers via a range of cloud based SaaS products, and directly via APIs and Data Feeds.

 

Purpose of the Role

 

Mintec has recently gone through a series of acquisitions, and as part of this are rebuilding many of their customer facing Propositions. This includes consolidating a number of disparate data silos across the organisation into a Unified Data Platform based on Databricks, and building new Product and Data solutions for customers.

 

As part of this, Mintec are engaging some 3rd party suppliers to build some of the components, and are engaging suppliers that are leveraging fully automated deployment processes, employing infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD at the beginning of projects, to ensure platforms and products can be deployed at speed.

 

Mintec is now looking for a DevOps engineer, whose role would involve developing deployment processes and tools to ensure accurate and efficient releases of new product features, and the management of product uptime, performance, and reliability.

 

The successful candidate will join a team of engineers responsible for maintaining current and future technical platforms – conduct fault diagnosis and remediation activities as well as ensure and maintain the security of platforms across the Mintec technical estate.

 

Key Accountabilities 

  • Release engineering: Build, test and maintain infrastructure and tools so that software can be developed and automatically released. Selecting, provisioning, and maintaining CI/CD tooling, developing and maintaining bespoke build/deploy scripts and automated test suites

  • DevOps advocacy/evangelism; With some of the Mintec organisation still not migrated to a DevOps culture, the DevOps engineer must help evangelize and educate the DevOps way of working across the organization. This could include educating and mentoring engineering team members on Azure services and SRE/DevOps best practices

  • Site Reliability Engineering (SRE): This would include

    • Monitoring: measure system health and reliability to improve & support business process requirements

    • Incident Management: Perform deep-dive analysis for all major incidents, coordinating with support and Infrastructure teams to identify root cause in both application and infrastructure

    • Own and drive improvement on Mean-Time-To-Repair and Mean-Time-Between-Incidents uptime

Purpose of the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for covering Mintec’s South American feed additive price reports and building news coverage of the region. This will involve developing relationships with industry contacts, assessing a range of prices to IOSCO standards, and writing both real-time and in-depth news articles about the animal nutrition markets in Central and South America.

Accountabilities

  • Responsible for expanding Mintec’s position as the leading food-commodity Price Reporting Agency (PRA) by growing industry contacts in the feed additive sector who submit pricing data.

Primary Purpose:

Mintec is seeking an experienced and ambitious Dairy Analyst to join our Commodity Insights Team. Ideally, you will come from an established Price Reporting Agency (PRA) or a commodities company with a familiarity with the dairy markets, and be experienced in working with price assessment methodologies, commodity specifications and IOSCO-compliant price reporting processes. You will need to be highly numerate with excellent analytical and communication skills and enjoy interaction with traders, producers and manufacturers in the agricultural commodity value chain. The analyst will be working closely with other members of the global Commodity Insights Team.

This position can be remote or based in our office in Toms River, New Jersey.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assess a set number of proprietary prices and grow the number of dairy companies benchmarking against our assessments to expand Mintec’s position as the leading food-commodity PRA.

  • Publish market analysis, commentaries (webinars, videos) and news relevant to the dairy markets on a scheduled and ad hoc basis

  • Manage and grow a diverse dairy contact base of buyers, sellers, traders & brokers, using all means of communication including face-to-face meetings and networking, to ensure the robustness of our price assessments

  • A strong understanding of what impacts physical commodity prices, with experience in fundamentals analysis and report-writing, as well as a knowledge of trade flows and dairy value chains.
  • Highly numerate with a keen eye for detail; very comfortable using MS Excel as well as performing various types of data analysis.
  • Understanding of hedging and financial risk management of commodities would be considered a plus.
  • Ability to present complex topics clearly and concisely to groups of any size.

DEPARTMENT: Price Reporting Agency – Commodity Insights Team

REPORTS TO: US Director of Commodity Insights 

Primary Purpose:

Mintec is seeking an experienced and ambitious Grains & Oilseeds Analyst to join our Commodity Insights Team. Ideally, you will have knowledge of established Price Reporting Agencies (PRA) or a commodities company with a familiarity with the grains and oilseeds markets, and be experienced in working with price assessment methodologies, commodity specifications and IOSCO-compliant price reporting processes. You will need to be highly numerate with excellent analytical and communication skills and enjoy interaction with traders, producers and manufacturers in the agricultural commodity value chain. The analyst will be working closely with other members of the global Commodity Insights Team to shape Mintec’s North American grains and oilseeds price and market information coverage.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assess a set number of proprietary prices and grow the number of grains and oilseeds companies benchmarking against our assessments to expand Mintec’s position as the leading food-commodity PRA.
  • Publish market analysis, commentaries (webinars, videos) and news relevant to the grains and oilseeds markets on a scheduled and ad hoc basis
  • Manage and grow a diverse grains and oilseeds contact base of buyers, sellers, traders & brokers, using all means of communication including face-to-face meetings and networking, to ensure the robustness of our price assessments
