Mintec is rapidly growing serving this huge and burgeoning global market and is seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to expand our client base amongst retailers and manufacturers, as well as, financial institutions and consultancies that serve this sector across the globe.  

Working closely with colleagues in our account management, client success and marketing teams, you will respond to qualified leads and identify new opportunities. You will be entirely responsible for presenting our solutions to companies, crafting proposals, negotiating and then closing large value annual subscription deals.

The role requires regular travel to meet clients at events or at their offices. Face-to-face selling, including presentations and demonstrations of our services is a core component of the role.

• 4+ years’ experience of working in a fast-paced subscription business development role

The market analyst will be mainly responsible for:

Required qualifications:

Experience and Education:

University degree in agriculture or economics preferred

2 years of experience of the commodities market (experience of either dairy, fruits and vegetable markets would be ideal)

Skills:

 

Understanding of commodities price theory, including the fundamental drivers for supply, demand, trade flows and prices and their mutual interaction

Experience in undertaking forecasting activities preferred

Mintec is growing serving this huge and burgeoning global market and is seeking an experienced and ambitious Senior Pricing Analyst to join our proprietary price discovery and publication team. Ideally, you will come from an established Price Reporting Agency (PRA)  and be experienced in working with price assessment methodologies, commodity specifications and IOSCO-compliant price reporting processes.  You will need to be highly numerate with excellent analytical and communication skills and enjoy interaction with traders, producers and manufacturers in the agricultural and soft commodity value chain.

Responsibilities:

 

• To foster in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals, supply chain, end-users and key participants for specific commodity markets to generate representative prices and world-class content

• To collect transactional pricing data and make price assessments in line with Mintec’s robust methodology, price specifications and IOSCO principles

In an $8 trillion annual market for agricultural commodities and food, Mintec occupies a unique position as data provider to many of the world’s top food manufacturers and retailers. These companies rely on our extensive pricing data to help their procurement professionals purchase raw materials smartly and improve their companies’ profitability.

Mintec has been providing market leading raw material price data and business intelligence tools to global procurement teams for more than 30 years. We provide market intelligence to the largest manufacturers and retailers around the world, using advanced technology and supported by a data- driven intelligence team with strong research and knowledge skill across a wide range of markets, from raw materials to indirect costs.

The successful candidate will provide valuable support to our Data team by writing instructions and coding to obtain information from websites and then subsequently to quality and assess the scripts collected from the data source to ensure that they fit the parameters that we would expect.

This position is based in our Bourne End office or remotely from home whilst isolation measures are in place.

•Analyse large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns including additional ad-hoc analyses

•Visualise data dynamically and reproducibly

Pulling data into a script from a SQL database or other sources
