Main Purpose of Job:

 

The successful candidate will be a valuable member of the Intelligence team and a “go to” source on market insight and current events in the industry. The Senior Market Analyst would be recognised as an ‘expert’ within their market(s)- based on the content delivered and contacts established. They will undertake price forecasting within their assigned commodity markets.

The Senior Market Analyst will be mainly responsible for:

Interpreting commodity pricing data, formulating insight and making recommendations based upon research findings

Interpreting commodity pricing data and external drivers to forecast commodity prices;

Providing commodity insight/data for Mintec’s online platform and participating in new product development projects;

Leading and managing the deliverables across the Proteins team; including forecast reports, media articles, client queries, etc;

Coaching and supporting analysts on best practices;

Leading projects successfully, managing the team on projects and playing a key role in developing client relationship;

Providing commodity insight/data for Mintec’s online platform and participating in new product development projects;

Providing commodity insight to media channels;

Presenting commodity insight to internal and external stakeholders i.e. participating in client calls and presentations;

Building and maintaining contacts in the industry, and collating information from key industry participants;

Performing primary and secondary market analysis;

Delivering continuous improvement in market knowledge;

Continually challenging, refining and improving operational processes to achieve improvement in productivity and quality of service;

Proactively thinking about how to improve the team's profile through the content delivered;

Showing strategic thought leadership on how Mintec’s deliverables can reach a wider audience.

 

Required qualifications:

 

We are looking for someone with specific experience within Market Analysis of Proteins who has an inquisitive, rational and intellectual approach to analysing fundamental data, macro and market information with the ability to deliver cohesive and credible commodity market outlook.

Experience and Education:

University degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering or in a similar numeric field

At least  6 years of experience of the commodities market, mainly in the Proteins markets such as fish, meat or dairy

Experience of people management is required

 

Skills:

 

Understanding of commodities price theory, including the fundamental drivers for supply, demand, trade flows and prices and their mutual interaction

Demonstrable experience in undertaking forecasting activities preferred

Primary and secondary research capabilities

Excellent analytical, qualitative and quantitative skills, with strong attention to detail

Strong communication and presentation skills with a proven ability to quickly build and maintain positive, effective relationships across all levels in an organization

Experience in leading or project managing the delivery of commodity insight

Excellent writing skills, able to articulate insight and reports clearly and concisely

The successful candidate will be a valuable member of the Pricing team and help shape the proprietary pricing division within Mintec. Ideally, you will come from an established Price Reporting Agency (PRA) and be experienced in working with price assessment methodologies, commodity specifications and IOSCO-compliant price reporting processes. An understanding of the agricultural commodity market is expected. You will need to be highly numerate with excellent analytical and communication skills and enjoy interaction with traders, producers and manufacturers in the agricultural and soft commodity value chain. The Pricing Analyst will be working closely with the Senior Pricing Analyst and the Head of Proprietary Pricing.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Managing and expanding the number of industry contacts that submit pricing data, using all means of communication including face-to-face meetings and networking

Develop in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals, supply chain and key participants for specific agricultural commodity markets

Collect transactional pricing data, bids, offers, tenders and any other information that will be relevant to assess the Mintec Benchmark Prices in line with Mintec’s robust methodology, price specifications and IOSCO compliant principles

• Follow procedures to continue to build and maintain Mintec’s proprietary data

 Write price rationales and analytical pieces

Handle questions from contacts and the market about the dynamics of particular pricing, seeking guidance from your manager when inquiries are sensitive, to make our processes and judgement transparent to the market

• To assist your manager to review and manage the existing pipeline of prices and identify new price assessment launch opportunities

•Publishing new Mintec Benchmark Prices to the agreed schedule


Skills:

 

• Minimum 1 years of experience within the commodities markets

• Focussing on covering agricultural and soft commodity markets, but may also have experience in other physical commodity markets

• Excellent understanding of commodity markets and the fundamental drivers which shape them

• Good understanding of commodity derivatives

• Strong academic background with a numerical/analytical degree

Mintec is rapidly growing serving this huge and burgeoning global market and is seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to expand our client base amongst retailers and manufacturers, as well as, financial institutions and consultancies that serve this sector across the globe.  

Working closely with colleagues in our account management, client success and marketing teams, you will respond to qualified leads and identify new opportunities. You will be entirely responsible for presenting our solutions to companies, crafting proposals, negotiating and then closing large value annual subscription deals.

The role requires regular travel to meet clients at events or at their offices. Face-to-face selling, including presentations and demonstrations of our services is a core component of the role. 

Skills and Responsibilities

• 4+ years’ experience of working in a fast-paced subscription business development role

• A strong negotiator with excellent commercial experience and consultative selling approach

• Experience of selling data products and data feeds

• Demonstrable record of owning and exceeding a target quota

• Experience of selling to FMCG brands, working closely with their procurement teams and executives to drive revenue growth through demonstrable client ROI
