The Jun-Nov 19 average price of EU eggs is down 2.5% compared to the last six-month average (Dec 18-May 19) on the back of increasing supplies from the top EU exporters. Total 2019 EU egg production is estimated to reach 7.3m tonnes, up 2.3% y-o-y. Increasing outputs in the top EU egg-producing countries such as France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the UK and Poland have driven the overall production growth in the EU.
The average price of US eggs (Jun-Nov 19) is 26% lower than the last six-month average (Dec 18-May 19), driven by a higher egg production, on higher-than-expected lay rates in Q3 2019. However, the lay rate is expected to decline slightly in the remainder of the year compared to recent months.
