Mintec to launch new weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for US Almonds

Following a period of market feedback, Mintec has decided to launch new weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for US almonds. The new assessment will begin publication effective Thursday 2nd March 2023.

The new assessment will reflect the transactable value at 16:00: London time.

Mintec already assesses Mintec Benchmark Prices for Carmel Type Supreme 23/25 & 27/30, which are larger (23/25) or smaller (27/30) in size to the new assessment. The assessment will complement Mintec’s existing offering and provide additional transparency into the price differentials between almonds of differing sizes, due to the increased granularity offered to market participants. This is particularly important due the ongoing droughts in California which have reduced the proportion of US almonds growing to larger sized kernels.
