Mintec to launch French Milling Wheat Mintec Benchmark Prices

Following a period of market feedback, Mintec has decided to launch weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for French milling wheat 11.5% protein. The assessment will begin publication effective from Friday, 15th September 2023. The initial proposal was communicated in a market note which can be found here.

The assessment would reflect the transactable value at 16:00:00 London time.

France is the largest wheat producer in the European union and plays a vital role in supplying wheat to the global market. The assessment will provide Mintec subscribers with an independent benchmark for the most commonly traded grade of French milling wheat. Furthermore, the assessment will complement Mintec’s existing European wheat coverage and allow for Mintec subscribers to compare prices between France and other major exporters on an FOB basis.
