Mintec to launch additional Palm Kernel & Palm Stearin assessments 
Following a period of market feedback, Mintec has decided to launch four new weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for palm oil fractions. The publication of the new assessments will be effective from Thursday 30th March 2023.  

The initial proposal was announced in a market note published on 27th February 2023 and can be viewed here.    

The proposed specifications for these assessments will be as below: 

The assessment will reflect the transactable value at 16:00:00 London time. 

Palm oil is one of the most widely used oils in the world, having both significant food and industrial applications. The launch of these new Mintec Benchmark Prices for palm oil fractions will allow the comparison with other palm-based products, such as crude palm oil, and means the industry will have access to independent price assessments and market information.
