Mintec proposes to launch US Soybean Meal Mintec Benchmark Prices

Mintec is proposing to launch weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for Soybean meal FOB US Gulf and is collecting feedback from market participants in the oilseed meal markets until Monday 11 September 2023.

Mintec is proposing to launch these assessments, if supported by the industry, on Tuesday 26 September 2023.

The proposed specification for this assessment would be as below:

The proposed assessment would reflect the transactable value at 16:00:00 London time.

Soybean meal is commonly used as a protein source in animal feed and the US is a major producer and exporter. The proposed assessment would complement Mintec’s existing soybean meal coverage and allow for additional granularity of comparison between major exporting origins.
