Mintec proposes to launch Soybean meal Mintec Benchmark Prices

Mintec is proposing to launch two weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for South American soybean meal and is collecting feedback from market participants in the soybean markets until Thursday, 15th June 2023. Mintec is proposing to launch this assessment, if supported by the industry, on Friday 30th June, 2023.

The proposed specifications for these assessments would be as below: 

The proposed assessment would reflect the transactable value at 16:00:00 London time.

Soybean meal is commonly used as a protein source in animal feed and Brazil and Argentina are major producers and exporters. The launch of these assessments would give Mintec subscribers additional insight into the global vegetable meals markets and allow for additional granularity of comparison between origins and vegetable meals.
