Mintec proposes to launch Ivory Coast cashew Mintec Benchmark Prices

Mintec is proposing to launch a weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices for Ivory Coast cashews, WW320 grade. Mintec is collecting feedback on this proposal from any market participants until Tuesday, 16th May 2023. Mintec is proposing to launch this assessment, if supported by the industry, on Wednesday 31st May, 2023.

The proposed specification for this assessment would be:

 The proposed assessment would reflect the transactable value at 16:00 London time.

The Ivory Coast is increasing in importance as a cashew supplier, with higher volumes of raw cashew nuts being processed within the country and exported as kernels, rather than being shipped and processed in hubs such as Vietnam. The proposed assessment would provide increased transparency and an independent benchmark for this growing exporter. Additionally, the assessment would allow for Mintec customers better understand the price relationships of the benchmark WW320 grade, between the Ivory Coast and other major exporting regions.
