Mintec proposes to launch Chinese & Malaysian Palm Oil Derivative MBP

Mintec is proposing to launch weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for Palm Kernel Olein RBD FOB Malaysia and Palm Olein RBD CFR China and is collecting feedback from market participants in the vegetable oils market until Wednesday, 6th September 2023.

Mintec is proposing to launch this assessment, if supported by the industry, on Thursday 21st September 2023.

The proposed specifications for these assessments would be as below:

The proposed assessments would reflect the transactable value at 16:00:00 London time.

Palm oil is one of the most widely used oils in the world, having both significant food and industrial applications. The proposed palm oil derivative assessments would complement Mintec’s existing palm oil coverage by providing Mintec subscribers additional granularity and information for the global palm oil markets.
