Mintec launches monthly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for US Walnuts

Mintec has launched two monthly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) assessments for US walnuts, effective Tuesday 28 February 2023. 
 
The initial proposal to launch this assessment was announced in a market note published on 30th January 2023 and can be found here  and the decision to go ahead with the launch was communicated in a market note on 14th February 2023, which can be found here. 
 
The assessments, including their specifications, are: 

The new assessments reflect the transactable value at 16:00:00 London time on the last business day of the month. 

The new assessments complement Mintec’s existing offering in the US walnut markets and provide customers with insight into two commonly traded grades of chandler walnut kernels. This further enhances market participants ability to manage risk and track price trends in the nut markets.
