Mintec launches High Fructose Corn Syrup and Dextrose Mintec Benchmark Prices

Mintec has launched weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for high fructose corn syrup (42% and 55% dextrose equivalent) as well as dextrose (liquid and dry) effective Wednesday, August 30th, 2023.  

The initial proposal was announced in a market note published on July 26th, 2023, and can be viewed here. The decision to go ahead with the launch was communicated in a market note on August 11th, 2023, and can be found here.

The assessments reflect the transactable value every Wednesday at 16:00:00 US Eastern time.   

Due to the opaque nature of the US sugar and sweetener industry, reliable benchmarks are difficult to find. The complex nature of the industry, with high levels of trade protectionism and variable input costs, has led to high demand for such benchmarks. These Mintec Benchmark Prices will provide an independent reference point for the industry.
