Mintec launches Argentinian Feed Barley Mintec Benchmark Prices

Following a period of market feedback, Mintec has launched monthly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for Argentinian feed barley, effective from Friday, 15th September 2023.  

The initial proposal to launch this assessment was announced in a market note published on 11th August 2023 which can be found here. The decision to go ahead with the launch was communicated in a market note on 29th August 2023, which can be found here.

The assessment reflects the transactable value at 16:00:00 London time. 

Argentina is a major barley exporter, and its importance has been growing in recent years as a supplier to the Chinese feed markets. The assessment provides additional granularity to Mintec’s existing global barley coverage and allows Mintec subscribers to compare prices between reliable benchmarks for major producing and exporting countries.
