Mintec launches Argentinian Dairy Mintec Benchmark Prices

Following a period of market feedback, Mintec has launched 2 monthly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for Argentinian dairy products.  
The initial proposal was announced in the market note published on 31st August 2023, which can be viewed here. The decision to go ahead with the launch was communicated in market notes on September 15th, 2023, which can be viewed here.

Milk powders are used as an alternative to fresh milk. They can be used after dissolution in water or by direct adding the powder into a formulation. It is used to standardize dry matter or to optimize protein content. Milk powders are widely traded export products which are used in a variety of food and nutrition products. 

Argentina a key player in the global dairy industry and major exporter. Argentina acts as a supplier for the South American continent and price-sensitive markets in Africa. The launch of the new assessments gives Mintec subscribers greater clarity in understanding price movements in the global dairy complex.
