Mintec launches additional new North American IQF Strawberry Mintec Benchmark Prices

Mintec has launched additional new monthly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for US and Mexican IQF Strawberries effective Tuesday, March 14^th, 2023.  

The initial proposal was communicated in a market note which can be found here. The decision to go ahead with the launch was communicated in a market note on February 24^th, 2023, and can be found here. 

The assessments, including their specifications, are: 

The new assessments reflect the transactable value on the last business day of each month at 16:00:00 US Eastern time.  

These Mintec Benchmark Prices address the lack of transparency in the US frozen and processed fruit industry as US frozen fruit sales reached $1.5 billion in 2021/22. These MBP will aid industry participants to reliably, and independently, benchmark their transactions for the first time.
