Mintec to launch new weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for Ukraine Corn

Following a period of market feedback, Mintec has decided to launch new weekly Mintec Benchmark Prices (MBP) for Ukrainian Corn. The new assessments will begin publication effective Friday, 3^rd February 2023.

The initial proposal was announced in the market note published on 20^th December 2022, which can be viewed here.

The new assessment will carry the Mintec Code CUKR for Ukrainian Corn CPT, and customers can access this through the Mintec Analytics platform.

The new assessment will reflect the transactable value at 16:00:00 London time.

Ukraine is one of the world's most significant agricultural producers and exporters and plays a vital role in supplying corn to the global market, representing approximately 14% of the global export share (before the Russia-Ukraine war). Therefore, the launch of this assessment would give users greater clarity in understanding price movements in this important, yet opaque, market.
