Mintec Clarifies Vanilla Assessment Specifications

Mintec wants to clarify the quality specifications for the Vanilla Mintec Benchmark Prices with the codes SP54, SP59, 5R30, GR22, VFT1, VFT2, VFT3, VFT4. 

• The gourmet grade vanilla assessments (Mintec Codes: SP54, GR22, VFT1 & VFT4) represent vanilla beans with a vanillin content at or above 1.50%, a moisture content at or above 35%, and a length at or above 15cm.

• The industrial grade 1 vanilla assessments (Mintec Codes: SP59 & VFT2) represent vanilla beans with a vanillin content between 1.50-1.80%, a moisture content between 21-27%, and a length at or above 13cm.

• The industrial grade 2 vanilla assessments (Mintec Codes: 5R30 & VFT3) represent vanilla beans with a vanillin content between 1.10-1.50%, a moisture content of 18-24%, and a length at or above 13cm.
